Well done to Jishie for representing the school at the Offaly final of the Spelling Bee in Tullamore Educate Together National School. The competition was very tough, and Jishie did extremely well. She received a goodie bag and a dictionary for her hard work.
We held the final of our Spelling Bee today. We had six finalists from 5th and 6th Class. It was very tense and the girls did very well under pressure. Well done to Sharona, Martina, Kayla, Audrey and Doris, who were runners-up. Congratulations to Jishie who will go forward to represent the school at the Offaly final of the Spelling Bee next Wednesday.
We are taking part in the Read Anything, Anytime, Anywhere initiative ran by Tullamore Library. The classes have given a commitment to read for at least 5 minutes every day. The reading takes place during DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read) and the aim of the project is to foster a love of reading in children. We are doing really well and thank you to Miss Higgins for organising this worthwhile activity. |
