St. Philomena's has just elected its first Student Council. All of the candidates prepared speeches and made posters about how to make St. Phillomena's an even better school. An election was held in each class and twelve girls were elected: Emily Smith, Alana Nannery, Emily Spain, Clodagh Rigney, Aoife Kavanagh, Zoya Ausaf, Taylor Wrafter, Emma Power, Angie Sewell, Izzy Foley, Callie O' Hanlon and Alannah Greenan. They will attend meetings and discuss how we can make positive changes to our school.
Well done to all the girls in St. Philomena's that successfully completed the 20 day challenge by coming to school for all of the 20 school days in November. We had a very high attendance rate for the month with Ms. Marron's class having the highest overall attendance. All the girls that were present for the 20 days were presented with a certificate. Ms. Buckley organised a poster competition for our 20 day Every School Day Counts challenge. She had a very difficult time choosing the winners as the standard was very high. Congratulations to all our winners: Victoria Smith, Maddison Rickard, Juliet Clear, Sorcha McDonagh, Molly Dillane, Kelly O' Callaghan, Keeley Ryan, Angie Sewell, Fiadh Brennan, Amber Power and Maria Biesiada and thanks to everyone for taking part.
