Miss Leavy taught us a fabulous lesson on farming. She had a Powerpoint presentation prepared, with lots of interesting facts and colourful images. We filled in a worksheet and wordsearch to see what we remembered. We learned the names of tractors and farm animals. We learned about crops and jobs to be done on the farm. We saw photos of the animals that she has on her farm. But, the best thing of all was when we got to see and hold some of her 5-day old chicks. They were very, very cute ! Thanks Miss Leavy ! We really loved your lesson. And a special "Thank You" to your Mam for bringing in the chicks. Hope we didn't scare them too much !
On Thursday, our first "expert lesson" was a drawing lesson given by Miss Conlon. She demonstrated how to draw a peacock but we were encouraged to use our own creativity in our pictures. She had prepared an instruction sheet for each group that we could refer to if needed. Afterwards, she picked 3 of her favourites and gave out raffle tickets. Thanks Miss! We enjoyed your lesson. Chloe's lesson was Drama. She assigned an activity to small groups and gave some preparation time. Each group performed their drama for the class and we enjoyed them. Thanks Teacher! Good Job!
Sian's lesson today gave us the challenge of creating a drama in which there were contrasting moods and characters. We worked in groups and performed for each other afterwards. the winning group got a raffle ticket. Thanks Teacher! We enjoyed your lesson. On Wednesday,we also had a very creative art lesson with Miss Mathew. It was called Scratch Art. We used oil pastels and chalk pastels to cover a page with strong bright colours. Then we used a brush to put black paint (with some washing-up liquid) all over the page. Next we used a tooth-pick to scratch our design onto the page. We were very pleased with the results! OOOOPS !

Here are the two sketches that Demi Lee chose as the ones that she liked best: "Mysterious Doctor" "Pasta Crisis"
Yesterday, two girls presented lessons to the class on topics that they are particularly interested in. Amy taught us about Irish Dancing. She gave us information about costumes, shoes, dances and competitions (Feiseanna). She answered lots of questions from the class and asked some questions to test us! She also danced a reel for us. Well done Amy ( Miss Kavanagh). Thanks for teaching us! Claire then taught a Drama lesson. She started off with a quiz which we filled in, and she corrected our answers. Then she assigned an improvised comedy sketch which was to involve a farm, an old lady and a goose. She gave us 10 minutes to prepare it, in groups of three. We had great fun acting out the sketches and enjoyed watching the other groups. Here are the pictures. Well done Claire ( Miss Burke). We enjoyed your class. Thank you.
