Welcome to 'Under the Sea' week.
We will be doing things a little differently over the next four weeks. If we were in school, we would be planning for Arts Week, Sports Day, School Trips and lots more nice activities. So we are going to try a 'virtual' theme each week as a whole school. This week's theme is 'Under the Sea'.
Below this post you will see a menu of activities. There are many choices so you can choose an activity to complete in your own time. This will be our work for the week.
You can keep an eye on the blog each day for a Padlet, kahoot or something different to enjoy. I will also be posting a revision maths sheet.
This is an opportunity to have fun while exploring 'under the sea'. Please get outside and play too and enjoy the fabulous weather we are having. Remember to stay safe at all times and to have lots of fun!!
I will talk to you all each day on our class blog.
Enjoy this week girls.
Taispeánann Lucy Ní Dhuiginn dúinn cén chaoi Spongebob Squarepants a tharraingt. (Lucy shows us how to draw Spongebob Squarepants)
Ms. Heaslip also has some nice art ideas on her page. You can check them out here: http://stphilomenasns.weebly.com/ms-heaslip
What makes waves?
Exploring the coral reefs - Look at the video below. When you are finished, write down 5 new facts you learned after watching this video.
Other options may include:
1. Design a poster to protect our ocean habitats from pollution. Plastic is harming wildlife such as fish, dolphins, seabirds and seals as they become entangled or mistake it for food.
2. Research a sea creature and create a fact file
Poetry - The Great Blue Whale
Another poetry idea: You might like to write your own poem based on our under the sea theme. You might choose a sea creature to focus on or sea life in general. Again the choice is yours. Enjoy :)
English Reading - Layers of the Ocean
English Writing Ideas - Under the Sea
PE - Just Dance Disney Under the Sea
PE - Pirate Yoga
