Geraldine from the Heritage in Schools project visited our classroom on Wednesday 7th March. We were treated to a demonstration of spinning and carding wool using a traditional spinning wheel. We began our St. Patrick's Day weaving project. Don't forget to check back in to see our finished creations.
There was great excitement in our classroom on Tuesday afternoon when Ms. Buckley came in to show us all how to make pancakes. We followed the recipe and completed a 'Pancake Tuesday' wordsearch. Most importantly, we got to taste the delicious pancakes. A big thank you to Ms. Buckley for organising this surprise for us and to Orla for helping us too. Take a look at some of our pictures....
On Tuesday 26th February we held our Enterprising Students display in school.
The girls from fifth class worked together and individually on their projects. The girls came up with many innovative and creative ideas and showed great dedication to their projects over the past few weeks. On the day the girls from fifth class presented and spoke about their products to the girls in the other classes, to other staff members and to the judges. There was a fantastic range of products to view and admire. There was home baking, craft work, greeting cards, Harry Potter wands, slime, body cream, goody hampers, teddies, key rings and jewellery to mention a few . Well done to all the girls who worked hard to prepare and present their products. Great work girls ! You are all Enterprising Students. You should be very proud of yourselves. Here are the photos: |
