Hi Girls, I hope you all had a nice Easter. Below is the work for this week. Try your best to complete as much of this as possible but do not get stressed out about it. I hope you are all helping out at home and getting some exercise in each day. Well done everyone on the “Country” &“Industrial Revolution” projects, they were very professional and I can see that you put a lot of work into them.
Maths · Algebra – Number Sentences - Pg. 157 -161 · Remember, you do not have to complete every question in this chapter. The main thing to remember is that number sentences are sentences written with numbers and symbols e.g. =,+,-,x etc. Also try to remember the difference between the “less than” and “greater than” signs. · Maths Challenge 55,56,57,58,59 · “Twinkl.ie” along with various other websites have many resources based on number sentences that may be helpful · Also, it is very important that you practice your multiplication and division tables daily even if it is only for a few minutes. English · Spellbound Week 30 – Complete all exercises and make sure that you can spell each of the block words. · This week we are focusing on Interviews · You can interview somebody at home or call someone to that you would like to interview · The purpose of an interview is to gain information about that person. Make sure you have a list of at least 20 questions that are appropriate for the person that you are interviewing. For example, if you are interviewing a friend you might ask “what do you want to be when you grow up”? You dont need to ask this question if you are interviewing one of you parents ;) · Check out “Funny interviews with kids” on YouTube · You will need a pen and paper to record the answers that are given · Please remember to continue with your daily diary. Just take a minute in the evening to write down what you during the day. · And most importantly make sure that you are continuing to read every day. Gaeilge folensonline.ie can be accessed free of charge 1) Continue to watch one program each day on TG4 2) An Aimsir (the weather) is our theme for this month. Each day this week, watch the weather as Gaeilge on TG4. Do your best to record three points each day e.g. Beidh sé ag cur báistí amárach. Twinkl.ie has many helpful resources to help you learn abou “An Aimsir” Monday - Abair Liom L. 109 “B” 1-9 Tuesday - Abair Liom L.110 “D” 1-6 Beidh sé an-ghaofar anocht. Most likely there will be a storm) Wednesday - Abair Liom L.111 “F”- translate “An Sneachta” Thursday - Abair Liom L.112 “G” 1-8 (Future tense) Friday - Abair Liom L.113 (an gives a “h” to all letters apart from d,t,and s) Geography This weeks focus in geography is Planet Earth in Space. Check out “How to make a 3D solar system” on YouTube · I would like everyone to make or draw their own solar system. You can paint stones of various sizes tpo represent each planet. An easy way to remember the planets in order from the sun is “My Very Easy Method Just Sums Up Nine Planets” Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune · Pick one planet from our solar system and research it. You will need to record at least 10 facts on the planet that you choose. · Check out “Planet Size Comparison 2018” on YouTube. It will show you how small our Earth really is. Best of luck, M.
